Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream the butter until light and fluffy. Gradually add sugar and beat for about 4 minutes.
- Incorporate eggs one at a time and mix in the vanilla extract.
- Alternate adding the dry ingredients and milk into the butter mixture until just combined.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
- For the frosting, whip together softened butter and powdered sugar until smooth. Add vanilla and milk until desired consistency is achieved.
