  • 1 lb lean ground beef (or turkey)
  • 1 medium sweet onion, chopped
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 8 oz cooked pasta (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a large baking dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté chopped onions until translucent. Add ground beef and cook until browned.
  3. Stir in chopped cabbage and sauté until slightly wilted. Mix in tomato sauce and garlic powder; simmer for a few minutes.
  4. Layer half of the beef-cabbage mixture in the baking dish, sprinkle with cheddar cheese, then add the remaining mixture on top.
  5. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
